CREDENTIALED CALIFORNIA COUNTY TECHNOLOGY EXECUTIVE

The Institute offers three credential opportunities to those who complete a designated number of credits:

Credentialed California County Supervisor (for elected county supervisors)

Credentialed California County Senior Executive (for senior executives: CAO/CEO, deputy or assistant CAO/CEO, elected and appointed department heads, senior analysts and senior managers)

Credentialed California County Technology Executive (for senior information technology managers and executives). Offered in partnership with the California County Information Services Directors Association

Each credential requires completion of at least 30 credits: 15 credits are from the core courses (100 level); 15 are from elective courses (300 and 400 level). Most Institute courses are three credits. The Technology Credential requires completion of five IT courses and five leadership courses.

Participants may earn a credential by either registering for the Credential Package (see below) or registering for individual classes. Even if you are undecided about earning a Credential, the Institute keeps track of your participation so all courses completed can be counted towards the Credential requirements. 

Recognition for Achievement

Institute participants who complete their Credential are recognized for their commitment to continuing their professional education.

Upon completion of a Credential participants receive:

• Unique framed Credential
• Lapel pin
• Listing on the Institute website
• Recognition at a CSAC annual conference
• Listing displayed at CSAC Institute

Discounted Credential Package Available

Save money on course registration! For those participants interested in pursuing a Credential from the Institute, a Credential Registration Package is available. This discounted package allows participants to register for up to 33 credit hours for a single, reduced, registration fee. That provides sufficient courses to complete either credential. Institute Fellows

Institute Fellows provides credentialed supervisors and executives with an advanced engagement in their continuing education. Fellows complete additional courses, participate in the unique Fellows Seminar, and share their expertise as a sounding Board for the Institute.

Goals

• Encourage supervisors and senior executives to continue their education beyond the credential; to support life-long learning.
• Provide participants with a challenging learning experience integrated with field practice and reflection.
• Create a networked pool of Fellows to advance CSAC Institute principles.
• Recognize each individual’s continuing education commitment and achievement.
