Description:

Solano County is seeking an accomplished professional to serve as its Budget Officer with responsibility for direct management and coordination of the County’s long-term budget preparation processes across the entire organization. This position will provide expert level authority and consultative services on budget and fiscal issues to elected officials, executive management, and all County departments. The Budget Officer also monitors and interprets proposed, pending, and enacted legislation to determine the fiscal implications across the spectrum of county services with particular emphasis on health/human services, public safety, and other areas impacted by the realignment of financial resources as mandated by the State of California or other revenue sources.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have strong analytical skills related to the development and implementation of long-term financial strategies, projections, financial models, and budgetary reports. Master’s degree is highly desirable. Ten years of experience that includes responsibility for the budgetary process of a large public agency, preferably a county.
