Join #CountiesCare Social Media Day this Wednesday
The National Association of Counties (NACo) invites you to participate in the #CountiesCare Social Media Day this Wednesday, Aug. 29, to showcase how counties have taken innovative pathways to alleviate poverty and increase well-being, particularly in our nation’s rural counties.
The #CountiesCare Social Media Day aligns with the presidential initiative of NACo President and San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox, Connecting the Unconnected. The initiative explores ways that counties link residents to services and achieve healthy, safe and vibrant communities, building on NACo’s previous effort, Serving the Underserved, by continuing to inform and illustrate how counties help our most vulnerable citizens forge pathways to self-sufficiency.
Throughout the day, NACo will share examples of how counties connect residents to services and key federal programs, such as TANF, SNAP and Medicaid. The day will highlight county best practices, as well as resources and tools for counties to share and utilize.
This day is another avenue to amplify your voice in the national dialogue. We encourage you, as county officials and leads of public agencies, to join the social media day with your social media accounts – to share and uplift the story of how you are strengthening the livelihoods of your residents. Join us by posting links to or short summaries of your county’s projects, resources, lessons learned, tips and innovative efforts on NACo’s Facebook page or on Twitter @NACoTweets using the hashtag #CountiesCare.
The highlight of the day will be a #CountiesCare Twitter Chat at 11 a.m. PT through @NACoTweets.
