2020 Trial Court Revenue Distribution Training Sessions
January 30, 2020
Registration is Open! The Judicial Council has announced open registration for their upcoming Spring 2020 Revenue Distribution trainings. The 2020 Trial Court Revenue Distribution Training sessions are being offered on April 9 and 23 (Sacramento), and April 28 (San Diego), from 8:30am-3:30pm, with registration from 8:00am-8:30am. This will be the eighth consecutive year the Judicial Council and State Controller’s Office (SCO) will partner to provide semi-annual training on trial court revenue distribution. This ongoing training was established by the Judicial Council’s Court-Ordered Debt Task Force in 2013 for court, county, city, and parking entities that perform revenue collection and distribution activities.
Training Curriculum: The training will primarily focus on the resources available for determining revenue distributions, any recent statutory changes affecting distributions, distribution audit issues, discussion of frequently asked questions, and examples of distribution calculations. Since collections and revenue distribution activities are inter-related, collections information and updates will be integrated into the distribution trainings, including a brief overview by the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) on its Court Ordered Debt (COD) and/or Interagency Intercept Collections (IIC) programs.
This year, they are reducing the plenary session to two hours, and offering three breakout sessions, each with two options to choose from. This is in response to your feedback and requests for more in-depth discussion of key topics. A detailed description for each session is provided on the registration page. Laptops are needed for the breakout sessions. Please bring your laptop or plan to share.
The sessions will not be available by conference call or webinar and each session will cover the same information. These in-person sessions are free and open to all interested individuals. Please feel free to forward this information to others who may wish to participate. Capacity is limited, and it is recommended to register early. Wi-Fi is available, and you are strongly encouraged to bring your laptop to the entire session. Lunch will be provided.
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2020. PLEASE REGISTER ONLINE AT: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020RevDistributionRegistration
Expect to receive the training Agenda, PowerPoint presentation and accompanying materials several days prior to the training. It is suggested you print these materials and bring them to the meeting, they will be referred to during the presentation.
