2024 CSAC Annual Meeting Recap: Housing, Land Use & Transportation Policy Committee

November 27, 2024

The Housing, Land Use and Transportation Policy Committee met on Tuesday, November 19 during the CSAC 130th Annual Meeting in Los Angeles County. The session began with an insightful presentation highlighting the need to diversify California’s transportation funding sources and featured discussions on county experiences with the Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation.

Federal funding remains crucial to California’s transportation infrastructure, particularly through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Legislative updates emphasized ongoing efforts to renew the IIJA’s transportation components at the federal level. CSAC is collaborating with state and federal partners on this initiative and encourages county staff involved in road projects and maintenance to participate in a Caltrans survey. The survey (linked here) is essential for Caltrans to understand county priorities and ensure robust participation in the IIJA renewal process. CSAC has also joined Caltrans’ IIJA Reauthorization Working Group and will provide ongoing updates as this process unfolds.

All meeting materials and slide decks presented during the Housing, Land Use & Transportation Policy Committee are available on the CSAC 2024 Annual Meeting webpage.
