California Violence Intervention & Prevention Grant Seeking Scoring Panel Members for Cohort 5 RFP

For those interested, the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) is seeking Panel Members for the fifth cohort of the California Violence Intervention and Prevention (CalVIP) Grant. Please see below for additional information.

The purpose of CalVIP is to improve public health and safety by supporting effective community gun violence reduction initiatives in communities that are disproportionately impacted by community gun violence. To date, BSCC has administered four rounds of CalVIP grant funding that have provided more than $250 million to cities and community-based organizations for local violence intervention and prevention efforts.

The BSCC is seeking individuals to serve on a Scoring Panel who have professional expertise and/or personal life experiences related to community-based gun violence. This includes the following:

  • Persons with direct experience (with either a public agency or a community-based organization) in developing, implementing or evaluating violence reduction initiatives, including initiatives that incorporate public health and community-based approaches.
  • Persons who have been impacted by gun violence.
  • Formerly incarcerated persons.
