Call to Action: Urge Amendments to AB 735 & SB 415

April 3, 2025

CSAC, in coalition with CalCities, is advocating for amendments to AB 735 and SB 415, which seek to modify last year’s AB 98. AB 98 imposed significant requirements on County Planning and Community Services Departments, particularly for new or expanded logistics and warehouse developments within 900 feet of sensitive receptors on existing or rezoned industrial sites. The law mandates that all local governments update their circulation elements—some as soon as January 1, 2026—to include logistics-related details such as truck routes, signage, parking, and idling regulations. It also grants the Attorney General authority to fine local jurisdictions $50,000 every six months for noncompliance.

CSAC urges counties to submit letters of concern outlining the proposed amendments to the bill authors and the Assembly and Senate Local Government Committees by Wednesday, April 16, at 5 PM.
