Cohort II Implementation Readiness Open-Forum: Strategies and Updates – Tuesday, August 20

On Tuesday, August 20 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., the California Health and Human Services (CalHHS), Judicial Council of California (JCC), Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Legal Services Trust Fund Commission (LSTFC), and Health Management Associates (HMA) will join a virtual Implementation Readiness open-forum for county behavioral health and counsel/courts from Cohort II counties. The open-forum will include an update on the Cohort II CARE Act County Implementation Status Survey results for Quarter 2 of 2024 (April-June); an implementation readiness panel discussion; and time for open questions and answers (Q&A). Rural Affinity Group Technical Assistance (TA) Call - Wednesday, August 7

DHCS and HMA will host a Rural Affinity Group TA call on Wednesday, August 7 from 10:00—11:00 a.m. Topics for discussion include, but are not limited to, CARE Act communication, housing, and staffing. The call will feature a panel of Cohort I and II representatives from Glenn, Sutter-Yuba, and Tuolumne counties. Register here.

Data Submission Options Live Training –Tuesday, August 6

DHCS and HMA will host a live training for Cohort II county BH and data team members involved in CARE Act data collection and reporting on Tuesday, August 6 at 11:00 a.m. The HMA data team will provide live demonstrations of the SurveyMonkey platform and the MOVEit file transfer application, in addition to a summary of the two data file template options and quality assurance process.  The training will provide an opportunity to ask questions, discuss topics needing clarification, and share ideas and thoughts. Training topics include an overview of capacity and informed consent in the context of the CARE process; factors that ensure informed consent; CARE Act roles; and supportive measures to encourage voluntary participation throughout the CARE process.
