On May 29, 2024, CSAC and the Department of Water Resources (DWR)
launched the California County Café (C3) Series. This series of
virtual roundtable-style gatherings is designed for county staff
responsible for the planning and implementation of SB
552 of 2021 (Hertzberg).
This series is scheduled in response to feedback DWR received
from counties in 2023 at the end of the collaborative development
of the County
Drought Resilience Planning Guidebook, where counties
emphasized the benefits and values of sharing information and
practices. The series aims to:
Strengthen the County network to promote drought resilience.
Share experiences, best practices, and insights to advance
the implementation of SB 552.
Address immediate needs for developing County Drought
Resilience Plan.
The first meeting saw over 45 attendees from across the state.
Future meetings may focus on county-staff level conversations.
