This 60-minute interactive session, facilitated by two long-standing Institute faculty, focuses on best practices for working in this COVID-19 environment of uncertainty and ambiguity. The faculty draw on proven approaches to help you and your team:

- Understand how professionals experience ambiguity
- Develop processes for questioning assumptions
- Learn self-care, mental discipline tools
- Stay effective while working through adversity
The session is designed for participants to develop their own
individualized game plan for applying the discussion to their
work, as well as to learn from other participants.

Counties have made substantial advances to processes,
transparency and communication in response to the crisis. This
90-minute interactive session will feature discussions around
three strategies to sustain those advances and strengthen
organizational resilience: 1) build around purpose; 2) unleash
employee potential and expertise in agile teams; and 3)
reflective decision-making in uncertainty. Ideas will be offered
on how to capitalize on what has been accomplished to strengthen
individual and organizational resiliency and navigate an
uncertain road towards the next normal.
Lead and Manage from Afar: Nuts and Bolts
of Facilitating Virtual Meetings and Teams.

Virtual meeting are now commonplace within county organizations
as well as with key stakeholders and the community. Leading
virtual teams and facilitating virtual meetings requires a new
set of communication and preparation skills compared to
face-to-face meetings. This 75-minute interactive session will
survey key aspects of leading and managing from afar: 1) which
virtual meeting options and technology to use; 2) use of online
tools effectively during a virtual meeting; and 3) tips for
facilitating and leading virtual team meetings. The session will
offer hands-on practices for engaging participants in, and
increasing productivity of, virtual meetings.
