Last week, Supervisor Belia Ramos and Napa County staff hosted
boards of supervisors from across the state and CSAC staff from
the Administration of Justice and Member Services teams for a
learning session and tour of Napa County’s state-of-the-art,
relocated corrections and rehabilitation center.
The updated facility has over 250 beds, including two 24-bed
dormitory housing units and 28 beds in a new mental health and
medical unit. Mental health services within the modernized
facility will continue to offer tele-psychiatry and medication,
and will be significantly expanded to provide for individual and
small group psychotherapy, life-skills curriculum, pre-release
planning , and service coordination, and on-site
access to treatment that currently requires sheriff transport to
off-site providers. New features include additional program and
treatment space that can accommodate full classroom-style
learning, cognitive behavioral therapy, and facilitated small
group learning.
Napa County is proud of the work it has accomplished to relocate
the county jail and transform the facility to meet the individual
needs of the incarcerated population and all county staff who
deliver critical services for successful reentry.
