Department of Justice and Department of Health and Human Services Guidance on Emergency Responses to People with Behavioral Health or Other Disabilities
CSAC would like to share recent guidance released by the U.S.
Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS), that focuses on emergency responses to
individuals with behavioral health or other disabilities. This
guidance is in response to the Presidential Executive Order 14074
– Advancing Effective, Accountable Policing and Criminal Justice
Practices to Enhance Public Trust and Public Safety Section 14 –
Promoting Comprehensive and Collaborative Responses to Persons in
Behavioral or Mental Health Crisis.
