On October 20, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released the updated Policy and Operational Guide for Planning and Implementing the CalAIM Justice-Involved Reentry Initiative. This guidance includes policy and operational requirements for implementing the Medi-Cal Justice-Involved Reentry Initiative. The guidance is intended to lay out to implementing stakeholders – correctional facilities, behavioral health agencies, providers, community-based organizations, and Medi-Cal managed care plans (MCPs), among others – the policy design and operational processes that will serve as the foundation for implementing this important initiative.

DHCS will be hosting a Justice-Involved Advisory Group Meeting on Wednesday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. PT in order to discuss updates made to the guidance based on stakeholder feedback received during the review period for the draft version of the guide in June 2023.   

This webinar is open to all. Advance registration is required here. Participants are invited to submit questions by Monday, November 13 to CalAIMJusticeAdvisoryGroup@dhcs.ca.gov. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions during the session.
