The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking feedback
on two toolkits designed to complement the
California Advancing and Innovating (CalAIM) Data Sharing
Authorization Guidance (DSAG) by illustrating real-world
scenarios that will help on-the-ground providers and
organizations navigate data privacy and data sharing laws and
regulations related to the delivery of Medi-Cal Housing Support
Services and the Re-entry Initiative. The toolkits aim to
clarify when, why, and under what circumstances consent may
be needed to share sensitive health and social service
information under the relevant data sharing laws.
An overview of the guidance toolkits as well as copies of the
DSAG Medi-Cal Housing Support Services and Re-Entry Initiative
Toolkits can be
accessed here for review. Stakeholders are encouraged to
provide feedback on the toolkits via
Survey Monkey. All stakeholder feedback is due by
Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
