This week, the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment
(CSCCE) at the University of California, Berkeley released their
2024
Early Childhood Workforce Index. This fourth edition of
the report, which has tracked progress since 2016, provides a
state-by-state look at policies and conditions affecting the
early care and education workforce. The new report includes:
50-state data on early childhood educator wages and poverty
rates;
Interactive maps and tables on wages and workforce policies
by state;
New data on the use of federal relief funding and state-level
initiatives that supported early educators over the last three
years; and
Actionable policy solutions.
