“SAVE THE DATE” for Spring 2025 Trial Court Revenue Distribution Training(s)

For Court and County Revenue Distribution and Collections Program staff that may be interested, please see below for information on the Spring 2025 Trial Court Revenue Distribution Trainings, scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, Thursday, May 8, and Thursday, May 15. The dates have been set for the Spring 2025 Trial Court Revenue Distribution Trainings— please mark your calendar. This training was established by the Judicial Council’s Court-Ordered Debt Task Force in 2013 for court, county, city, and parking entities that perform revenue collection and distribution activities.

Session Details:

  • Dates/time: As noted below. 
  • Format: All sessions will include both pre-recorded and “live” segments, conducted via Zoom.
  • Audience: These sessions are free and open to all interested individuals. Please feel free to share this information with others who may wish to participate.
  • Registration: To attend the sessions, please register online by Friday, April 25.
  • Recordings: If you are unable to attend any of the sessions, a recording will be posted online by Friday, May 30.

Plenary Session, Wednesday, May 7, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

This session is designed for court, county, city, and parking entities that perform revenue collection and distribution activities. This session will provide information and/or updates on recent statutory changes affecting distributions, distribution audit issues, and other topics of interest including the Ability to Pay program. The session may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Legislative updates
  • Trial Court Revenue Distribution Guidelines updates
  • Franchise Tax Board’s Court-Ordered Debt and Interagency Intercept Collections programs
  • Collections and Ability to Pay updates
  • State Controller’s Office:
    • TC-31 form
    • Distribution audit issues

Also, breakout Session A– Basic Distributions and Session B– Advanced Distributions include a hands-on component and will be offered on two separate days – you may attend one or both sessions. A pre-recorded video consisting of a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation has been prepared that includes basic distribution concepts and rules, a high-level overview of available resources, and a walk-through of the worksheet components. The recording is accompanied by a case study with the information used to complete the corresponding Excel worksheet. To prepare for Sessions A and B, we recommend viewing the pre-session PPT recording, reviewing the case study, and completing the worksheet. The pre-session materials are posted online in the Revenue Distribution Training Programs By Year section 2025 training tab.
