Last Friday, the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) held a
webinar on their growth cap and penalty program, but
unfortunately due to errors, county participants were unable to
join. As a result, DSH agreed to host another webinar this
Friday, September 15th at from 12:00 pm –
1:00 pm.
It is critically important that counties join this Friday to
learn more about the changes to the DSH’s Felony Incompetent to
Stand Trial (IST) Growth Cap and Penalty program (see attached
Department Letter 23-003). This is a prime opportunity for all
counties (executives, directors, and front-line staff from all
departments and agencies (county executive office, budget,
behavioral health, sheriff, probation, public defender, district
attorney, as well as other county stakeholders) to ask questions,
discuss challenges, and share local concerns.
DSH plans to extensively test the Webex link prior to the meeting
to ensure that the same issue does not occur. Again, we
encourage all counties to join, actively participate, and ask
