Upcoming Events: Behavioral Health Policy Updates and Initiatives

March 6, 2025

Those interested in the Health and Human Services policy space have two key opportunities this March to engage with state leaders and learn about ongoing behavioral health initiatives.

Behavioral Health Task Force Lunch & Learn – March 12

On Wednesday, March 12, from 12:00 to 1:30 pm, the Behavioral Health Task Force (BHTF) will host a virtual Lunch & Learn focused on the Behavioral Health Community-Based Organized Networks of Equitable Care and Treatment (BH-CONNECT) Initiative. Staff from the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will provide a state-level overview of BH-CONNECT, helping members prepare for a deeper discussion at the next BHTF Quarterly Meeting on April 9. The agenda is now available, and advance registration is required. A recording of the session will be posted on the BHTF website.

Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative Quarterly Webinar – March 13

On Thursday, March 13, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) will host the next Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Quarterly Public Webinar. This session will provide updates on the progress of CYBHI and its workstreams aimed at transforming California’s approach to behavioral health care for children, youth, and families. Advance registration is required. More information is available on the CYBHI webpage.

Both events offer valuable insights into California’s evolving behavioral health landscape and opportunities for engagement with state policymakers.
