The California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) will be
releasing a draft AB 988 Five-Year Implementation Plan on
November 4, 2024, on the
CalHHS 988-Crisis Policy Advisory Group website. CalHHS is
required to prepare the AB 988 Five-Year Implementation Plan as
part of
AB 988 (the Miles Hall Lifeline and Suicide Prevention Act).
The Plan provides recommendations to support implementation of a
comprehensive 988 system.
Once released, those wishing to submit comments on the draft plan
are encouraged to send written comments to AB988Info@chhs.ca.gov before
November 14, 2024. Comments typed in a Word
document or PDF format may be submitted as an e-mail attachment.
CalHHS will host an informational webinar on November 4,
2024, from 12:30 – 2:00pm to provide a review of the
plan development process, an overview of the plan’s goals and
recommendations, and next steps. The agenda and link to register
for the upcoming webinar is available
here. The presentation recording and presentation materials
will be posted to the CalHHS 988-Crisis Policy Advisory Group
website following the webinar.
