On Tuesday, February 11 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, the Department of
Health Care Services (DHCS) will host an
all-comer webinar on Flexible Housing Subsidy Pools, or Flex
Pools. A Flex Pool is a locally designed model for centrally
administering rental assistance, coordinating, and effectively
using available housing supports resources to help people who are
experiencing or at risk of homelessness enter and maintain stable
long-term housing.
This webinar is open to all and may be of special interest to
county behavioral health providers, county government agencies,
Medi-Cal managed care plans (MCPs), Community Supports providers,
housing support providers, housing authorities, Continuums of
Care, and other entities engaged in supporting Medi-Cal members
who are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. Of note, Flex
Pools have been introduced by DHCS as a potential model for
counties and MCPs to consider for administering available funding
for rent assistance (e.g., Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA)
Housing Interventions, Transitional Rent).
