The U.S. Department of Transportation is soliciting comments on
a newly
proposed guidance related to environmental
reviews required under the National Environmental Policy
Act (NEPA) for surface transportation projects. This
interim final guidance became effective on December 17,
2024. This guidance impacts counties with projects
involving environmental clearances with the following federal
transportation agencies:
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
Federal Transit Administration (FTA), or
Federal Railroad Administration (FRA
Please note that the comments are due by February 18,
2025.
