Funding for Victim Services Available
The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services has released the Request for Proposals for the Increased Access to Services (XU) Program. The purpose of the XU Program is to provide one-time funding to victim service providers to increase physical and/or programmatic access to services for victims of crime with disabilities. Eligible Sub recipients include community-based organizations and governmental agencies that provide direct services to victims.
The XU Program is supported with Victims of Crime Act Victim Assistance Formula Grant Program funds. Approximately $2.5 million is available starting 2016-2017 for a 17-month period beginning April 1, 2017. To receive funding through the XU Program, the application package must be received or postmarked by March 15, 2017.
