CSAC convened the first meeting of 2017 of the Local Government Mandated Services working to review a host of items related to securing payment for state mandated programs and services for counties, cities and special districts.

The agenda included the National Association of Counties (NACo) Letter on Unfunded Federal Mandates to U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform; Assembly Bill 216, which would require prepaid postage on vote by mail ballots, and a recent Sexually Violent Predator mandate ruling on the state’s renewed obligation to pay between $20 million – $25 million to counties annually.
