Description:

The Placer County Air Pollution Control District is accepting applications for Air Pollution Control Specialist I and II to fill one permanent full-time vacancy and two temporary/extra help vacancies in Auburn, CA. Permanent/full-time: The Planning and Monitoring Section is recruiting a permanent/full-time Air Pollution Control Specialist to assist in managing the grant incentive program, which may include developing a public outreach plan and participating in community events, evaluating project applications, performing project inspections, and monitoring the project implementation. This position would also be assigned work in the burn program, emission inventory, air monitoring network, and air quality plan development. Temporary/extra-help: The Compliance and Enforcement Section is recruiting two temporary/extra-help Air Pollution Control Specialists to respond to and investigate complaints from the public about air pollution during non-business hours (weekends, holidays, and weekday evenings). These positions may also work during business hours to inspect stationary permitted sources of air pollution for compliance.

Qualifications:

Air Pollution Control Specialist – I Experience: No professional experience is required. Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in any of the biological or physical sciences, environmental health science, engineering or a related field. Air Pollution Control Specialist – II Experience: Two years of responsible air pollution investigation and enforcement experience performing duties similar to an Air Pollution Control Specialist I with Placer County. Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in any of the biological or physical sciences, environmental health science, engineering or a related field.
