The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, the Assistant Public Works Director will serve as a project manager for a variety of public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering and management experience including three years of supervisory and administrative responsibility. Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver’s license. Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as a civil engineer issued by the State of California Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers.
