Description:
THE POSITION: Under direction (Management Analyst II) or general direction (Program Management Analyst) of the County Chief Financial Officer, the Budget Analyst will lead a variety of County capital projects. In addition, the position will provide oversight and analysis of an assigned departmental budget and monitor and evaluate compliance with Board of Supervisors adopted policies in one or more agency areas. The position resides in the CEO’s Budget and Finance team. IDEAL CANDIDATE: The CEO’s Office is seeking a poised, professional, and seasoned individual with a background in capital project management, budgeting, policy analysis, and grant writing and management. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator to various audiences, including elected officials and County leadership. The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, work effectively in a team and a fast- paced environment, show initiative and adapt well to change; be organized, and detail oriented.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE: Management Analyst II: Typical qualifying experience would be some financial, management, operational and/or analytical experience in public or private organizations. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities also can be obtained by completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or a related field with one (1) to three (3) years of progressively responsible generalized or specialized management or analytical experience in a public or business setting. Program Management Analyst: Typical qualifying experience would be extensive experience in government programs and/or business administration and finance. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities also can be obtained by completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or a related field with five (5) or more years of financial management, budget development and analysis, and fiscal forecasting experience in a large organization.
