Description:

The County Librarian is an at will management position appointed by the Board of Supervisors with concurrence of the County Executive Officer and is responsible for the overall operation of the County’s library system. The County Librarian reports directly to the County Executive Officer and the Board of Supervisors. Incumbent plans, develops, implements, administers, directs and coordinates the activities of the County library and its branches. The County Librarian carries out the objectives of the Board by providing the efficient delivery of public services. Will perform related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Possession of a master’s degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university as required by Education Code 19142 and four (4) years of library management experience.
