Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the position of Deputy City Engineer. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, or a closely related field; five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of civil engineering or a closely related field; collaborations with elected officials, staff, developers, businesses, and residents and at minimum two (2) years of direct administrative leadership responsibility. A master’s degree is desirable. License/Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class “C” California driver’s license. Possession of and ability to maintain a Professional Civil Engineer License (PE) as issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists
