Description:

The Deputy Clerk carries out a variety of complex administrative support tasks. Members of the Board team are cross trained in several areas and use various technologies to successfully support the management of meetings, track information pertinent to different work assignments, and provide access to public information. The current vacancy is in the Assessment Appeals Division and the incumbent will be directly involved in the management of the property tax assessment appeals process. Other duties include taking minutes at official meetings, following up and ensuring materials are processed and distributed in accordance with legal requirements/procedures, and providing reception support.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has proficiency with Microsoft Office and other systems/software, including electronic agenda content management systems; strong research/analytical skills in order to navigate resources to obtain legal and procedural guidance related to work assignments; personal and professional integrity; a high level of initiative, independent judgment, teamwork and the ability to set priorities and meet critical deadlines; strong customer service focus, demonstrating respect, integrity and neutrality; a high degree of tact and discretion in dealing with elected officials, executives, staff, agencies and the public; the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and meticulous attention to detail.
