Description:

The County of San Luis Obispo IT Department is seeking an experienced leader to join their team as a Deputy Director. As a direct report to the Department Head, the Deputy Director would be responsible for the complete operations of the Infrastructure Division, which oversees 30 staff members and is responsible for large applications essential to County business. The Department’s roles, responsibilities, and projects continue to grow each year. This growth has led to increasing complexity in managing personnel, finances, and offices, and created a pressing need to find the right business leaders to join our organization. This business leader will require the necessary technical and organizational skills and, the ability to lead, be an agent of change, communicate well, clearly and often, “own” their specific business units, mentor their teams, maximize results, be a resource to others while being able to multi-task and handle and discern between conflicting priorities.

Qualifications:

A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes: 1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or other closely related field, AND; 2. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in information systems management which includes experience in a variety of IT disciplines and/or accountability for strategic and fiscal planning.
