The Child and Family Well-Being Department, part of the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). This integrated agency has a robust service network contributing to a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safely, and Thriving. Programs are designed to help all 3.3M SD County residents. One program is caring for our vulnerable children and youth. The Deputy Director will provide administrative and executive-level oversight of all functions for Polinsky Children’s Center, a comprehensive center to provide temporary care to vulnerable children ages 0 to 17 years old who are removed from their home when they can no longer remain safe with their family of origin and San Pasqual Academy, a first in the nation, residential educational campus for foster youth. This executive management position will report to the Assistant Director, Child and Family Well-Being for Administration, Policy, and Youth Strengthening and Shelter Programs.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have a senior/executive management-level experience applying thorough knowledge of principles and practices distinct to operating residential settings for children and youth in foster care in a dynamic and innovative leadership manner.
