$145,197.67 – $223,104.90 Annually, plus Benefits

POSITION: Under direction in the County Chief Financial Officer, manages and supervises the Budget and Finance section and performs related work as required. The candidates selected will be responsible for planning and implementing the future direction and composition of the County’s budget and programs and provide financial oversight over the 26 agencies within the County of Ventura. The level of the position and scope of supervision responsibility will be contingent upon the experience and skill set of the candidate selected. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be a seasoned budget and management professional, and have experience supervising and leading staff; will provide excellent customer service, anticipate problems and develop proactive solutions, provide positive leadership, strong work ethic, and collaboration among staff and County departments. Qualifications:

DEPUTY FINANCIAL OFFICER The successful candidate will possess an educational and employment background with considerable experience in a finance and/or budgeting which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills and abilities which can be obtained by completion of a Bachelor’s degree AND at least 5 years of budget and financial experience with considerable amount of supervision experience.

ASSISTANT COUNTY FINANCIAL OFFICER The successful candidate will possess an educational and employment background with considerable experience in multiple finance and/or budgeting which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Comprehensive experience in management and administration such as budget and finance is required, which can be obtained by completion of a Bachelor’s degree AND at least 7 years of management-level experience in budget and finance. Both positions are at-will classifications which are exempt from the provisions of the Civil Service Ordinance.
