Description:

Mono County is looking for an innovative and customer-centric leader to fill its Human Resource Director role. This pivotal position reports to the County Administrative Officer and oversees the County’s Human Resource Division, which includes three staff members. The HR Director will advocate for people-centered business practices and promote a collaborative, positive, and innovative environment across the County’s departments. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in public sector human resources and labor relations, with a comprehensive understanding of personnel administration, talent recruitment and retention, career development, and HR regulations. This leader will be an open communicator and active listener, valuing employees’ ideas and opinions to enhance the organization. The HR Director will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, while being strategically minded and proactive. The County seeks a Director who is eager to connect with others, foster enriching relationships, and motivate employees to boost morale and performance.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination equivalent to the education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to gain such knowledge and abilities is described below: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resource management or a related field, or a demonstrated equivalent in formal education and experience. • Possession of a valid driver’s license in California. • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a human resources department, preferably in the public sector, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity and employee and labor relations.
