$158,760.00 – $202,644.00 Annually

Description:

The ideal candidate is a professional senior manager who is open, honest, of strong character, promotes transparency, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The individual is familiar with the general provisions of Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations relating to the operation of Environmental Health, Air Pollution Control, Land Use, Administration/Community Education, Planning, and Building inspection. The individual also possesses a minimum of five years’ experience as a Department Head or Senior Manager within at least one of these areas.

Qualifications:

These employment standards are typically attained with at least five (5) years of experience as a Department Head or Senior Manager in Planning, Building, Environmental Health, Air Quality, or other closely related program. Possession of the following credentials and experience is preferred, but not required: A current International Codes Council (ICC) building official certificate; A current ICC building inspector or plans examiner certificate; At least one year of experience in the administration, interpretation, and enforcement of building codes; American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification; Certification as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist; and/or Three (3) or more years’ experience in an environmental health agency. A master’s degree in Public Health, Health Science, Public Administration, or a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
