Description:

The City of La Cañada Flintridge is seeking, for a key role in the City’s leadership team, a technically proficient and knowledgeable Finance Director to lead, guide, engage, empower, and ensure the completion of day-to-day responsibilities of budget, accounting, payroll, and reporting functions. The successful candidate will be a working Director who is hands-on, provides leadership and oversight, and is detail oriented to serve as a guiding, ethical, honest and transparent representative and role model of fiscal integrity.

Qualifications:

The Finance Director must have have 5 years of increasingly responsible financial accounting and management experience, preferably working in the public sector (municipality, special district, education) as a Finance Director, Assistant Finance Director, Financial Manager or similar senior level position, as well as graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting or related field. A Master’s Degree and / or professional certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Public Finance Officer from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) are desired.
