$61,776.00 – $148,345.60 Annually

Description:

The County Counsel Office serves as chief legal counsel for the Board of Supervisors, all County offices, departments and commissions. The Human Resources and Labor Law section advises and trains County departments and managers regarding a wide array of labor and employment matters, including hiring, training, compensating, and disciplining employees; reasonably accommodating employees and complying with employee leave law and policies; negotiating and finalizing labor contract; drafting personnel policies; and complying with the County’s policies and state and federal labor, employment and equal opportunity laws.

Qualifications:

Possession of an active, valid membership in the California State Bar and possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License; Perform highly complex legal research work; Analyze and apply legal principles and precedents to legal problems; Present statement of fact, law, and arguments clearly and logically; draft ordinances, resolutions and regulations; Propose legislative measures, and; Experience advising public sector clients regarding employee benefits, including retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and benefits-related policies and contracts, labor and employment matters, the Public Safety Officer’s Bill of Rights, disciplinary proceedings and labor negotiations.
