We are currently seeking an experienced human resource professional to fill the Human Resources Manager position in the County of Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office. The position is categorized as a Human Resources Manager II classification within the County’s leadership series. This position is an at-will position exempt from the Civil Service provisions. This position is home-based in Santa Barbara and may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule depending on the needs of the department. Flexible work schedules may be considered by the department after initial probation period. This position may also require travel throughout the County as needed. Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below may be acquired through various types of training, education, and experience. A typical way to acquire the required knowledge and abilities would be: • Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in human resources, organization development, public or business administration, communication, humanities, sociology, psychology, or a closely related field; and, • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional level human resources generalist experience, including at least two (2) years as a supervisor or manager. Additional Requirements: Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver’s license and the ability to meet automobile insurability requirements of the County or the ability to provide suitable transportation needs as a condition of continued employment.
