Description:

The County Executive Office is seeking an articulate, organized, and independent individual to fill the Legislative Analyst position in Santa Barbara. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization and make a significant impact on the community. This position will work independently and with executive staff, interest groups, and community leaders to provide meaningful outcomes on local legislation. The team works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to provide policy analysis on legislation. The Legislative Analyst will monitor developing policy/legislation, synthesize and present potential impacts of legislation, and make recommendations to the County Executive Office.

Qualifications:

Employment Standards: The required knowledge, skills, and abilities below may be acquired through various types of training, education, and experience. A typical way to acquire the required knowledge and abilities would be • Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business or public administration, public policy, political science, accounting, economics, or a related field, and • Three (3) years of progressively responsible local governmental experience in complex analysis of budgets including development and administration equivalent to a CEO Analyst II in the County of Santa Barbara, or three (3) years progressively responsible local governmental experience in analyzing and making recommendations to solve complex procedural, budgetary, governmental, or legislative problems.
