The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) invites you to apply to join our team as a Principal Long-Range Planner to guide our efforts to plan for the future of the Greater Sacramento area through integrated land use, economic development, equity, and transportation planning. SACOG is looking for someone with strong project management and collaborative planning skills with a solid understanding of the relationships between land use, transportation, equity, community engagement, economic development, and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications:

A strategic and nimble approach to project management, development, and implementation. Dedication to advancing equity through government planning, funding, and programming activities. Ability to work with a network of external partners and manage multiple stakeholders Adaptability and flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing requirements and deadlines. Ability to collaborate with team members of different professional disciplines, elected officials, and key regional stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, including time management, ability to set priorities, and ability to anticipate critical deadlines. Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics to a wide range of audiences.
