Description:

Lead the way in planning innovation in a dynamic city! The City of Pasadena, California, is seeking an experienced Principal Plans Examiner, who will be responsible for meticulously reviewing plans, specifications, and structural calculations for compliance with building codes and state-level regulations for various types of commercial buildings. Responsibilities include overseeing a direct staff of four and providing comprehensive information on codes, accessibility, and safety standards to stakeholders such as architects, contractors, engineers, and the public. The ideal candidate is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of California and will possess a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, excellent communication, and a strong understanding of local government procedures. They will drive plans forward while solving problems creatively and ensuring customer service excellence. This professional will have exciting opportunities to work on projects including research collaboration with biomedical laboratories and a retrofit of the Grand Central Library!

The City administration operates on a “9/80″ schedule, closing on alternate Fridays. Future hybrid work schedule upon approval.
