Salary Range:
The current salary range for the limited-term CALIFORNIA COUNTIES FOUNDATION PROGRAM MANAGER is $90,000 – $130,000 annually.
Description:
At the California Counties Foundation (Foundation), our achievements are driven by dedicated individuals and efficient processes. We are looking for an outstanding Program Manager for a limited-term role to coordinate the operations of a major initiative. This position is expected to last for up to 36 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and funding.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a multifaceted training program; representing the Foundation with host counties, affiliates, and other external partners; and identifying and supporting new Foundation initiatives and activities. Success in this role will also depend on the ability to organize various programs and activities to improve organizational efficiencies, building long-term goals for the organizations projects and developing program and project budgets.
Key Responsibilty of This Role
- Serve as the lead staff member for program activities.
- Expand program offerings and enhance the quality of existing programs.
- Manage budgets and report on fund allocations.
- Report on program performance to executive team and directors.
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement.
- Coordinate, manage, and run onsite and virtual training and special events.
- Ensure relevant standards, processes and regulations are upheld.
Typical Duties
- Manage class coordination (site selection, logistics management, contracting, attendance, curriculum development, and material production).
- Assist in the selection and scheduling of courses for each semester.
- Support online webinars (currently through Zoom), including meeting virtually with presenters in advance.
- Update program websites.
- Determine credential eligibility.
- Prepare and manage program budgets.
- Manage contracting, billing and invoices for instructors and program-related expenses.
- Maintain and analyze all data and records on program performance.
- Pursue grant opportunities for the Institute or other training programs, as needed.
- Arrange and coordinate monthly communications, special events and other activities designed to generate and foster participation in Foundation programs, including facilitating presenter marketing videos.
- Prepares periodic blogs, bulletin articles, and other communications to broaden awareness of key Foundation initiatives; and
- Create end-of-year and end-of-program reports.
Knowledge Required
- Executive-level professional development program design, delivery, and evaluation approaches.
- Basic online communication networking tools such as Survey Monkey, MailChimp, and Constant Contact.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience managing or coordinating multiple education or training programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- A master’s degree in public administration, leadership, organizational behavior, or related field is preferred.
- Experience in proposal writing.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work: should be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Employment Term:
This is a 3-year limited-term position. This role may become a regular full-time employee after the initial three years.
Travel is required. The position will be based either onsite in Sacramento or virtually (if the candidate resides in Los Angeles or nearby). Both options will require travel, primarily to either Los Angeles or Sacramento.
