$112,923.20 – $135,657.60

Description:

The Supervising Planner plans, organizes, assigns and supervises the work of professional and paraprofessional staff in the Conservation Division of the Planning, Building, and Environmental Services Department; coordinates long-range planning projects; general plan and zoning ordinance updates; administers the County’s discretionary vineyard erosion control plan program; Williamson Act contracts; Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA); Wildlife Conservation Commission; and the County’s Conservation Regulations; prepares required legal noticing, computer-aided tracking of incoming applications and completed applications; and performs other professional level work.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the planning field including at least one year in a lead capacity. General administrative or supervisory experience is desired. (A Master’s degree in planning or related field may be substituted for one year of required experience.)

Education:
Graduation from a four year accredited college or university with a degree in city, county or regional land use planning or related field. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for two years of the required college education on a year-for-year basis.)

License or Certificate*:
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

4. Oral Panel Interviews are tentatively scheduled to take place the week of August 26, 2019. Only the most qualified candidates from the interview process will be placed on the eligibility list and may be considered to fill positions for up to one year.
