The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Transportation Analyst (Classification: Analyst II – Transportation) to join the Transportation Team. Are you a public transit professional with experience in funding, grants management, or planning? If so, we want you to help manage and monitor federal, state, and local transit funds and assist with transit planning. As SACOG works to implement regional next generation transit strategies and local transit operators adjust their operating models to continue pandemic recovery, this role is essential to support those efforts regionally. This individual will also provide support and assistance to the SACOG region’s transit operators, coordinate with funding agencies, work on SACOG-led planning projects and contracts, participate in technical advisory panels and working groups on public transit and heavy rail, and provide input on internal and external policy and program guidance.

Qualifications:

Have at least one (1) year of experience working with public transit funding, grants management, or transportation planning Understand basic principles and practices of transit planning and operations, transit and transportation funding sources, and related grant programs and processes Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for improving transit in the region Foster collaborative partnerships with transit operators and funding agencies Work collaboratively internally across other SACOG teams and with transit operators and funding agencies Bring strong project management and organizational skills, with impeccable attention to detail Be conscientious and meet deadlines consistently
