Annual Meeting: Chance to Fulfill Ethics Requirements
Every two years at the CSAC Annual Meeting, we conduct a workshop that provides county officials with an opportunity to satisfy their state law (AB 1234) ethics training requirements. At our upcoming Annual Meeting in Riverside County, this workshop will be held on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 16.
The course is being conducted by the Executive Director/Ethics Program Director of the Institute for Local Government, JoAnne Speers. JoAnne promises a lively session that provides an overview of the full range of public service ethics laws and principles affecting county officials’ public service – along with video examples of missteps. Attendees will also receive a complete set of the Institute for Local Government’s ethics reference materials.
For county officials that have not yet satisfied their AB 1234 requirements, this workshop might be your last chance before the end of the year. It is also a great opportunity for supervisors-elect to take the training they will need once they come into office. Even though they haven’t been sworn-in yet, supervisors-elect can satisfy their requirements in advance.
Space is limited; to reserve a spot, contact Chris Feusahrens at cfeusahrens@counties.org.
