Building More Resilient Counties
Lessons from the Planning Department in Butte County
On May 16th, During CSAC’s Legislative Conference Tim Snellings, Director of the Butte County Department of Development Services presented as part of a workshop panel on Resiliency. In his role, Tim has seen dozens disasters impact his county over the years including the incident at the Oroville Dam, the Wall Fire, the Ponderosa Fire, and La Porte and Honey Fires during the 2017 October Fires.
His presentation focused on the lessons learned after dealing with disasters and ways the county has changed its planning policies to be better prepared for the challenges ahead. Click here to view Tim’s powerpoint.
