CA Counties Earn “Best of Category” in 2019 NACo Achievement Awards
Three California Counties – Los Angeles, Riverside and Sonoma – are being honored with a “Best in Category” distinction in the NACo’s 2019 Achievement Awards. Now in its 49th year, the Achievement Awards is a non-competitive awards program that seeks to recognize innovative county programs.

The California Counties to be honored with Best in Category are:
Los Angeles County (two awards)
- Best in the County Administration and Management Category for its “Child Abuse Reporting Electronic System (CARES).”
- Best in the Planning Category for the “Puente Hills Landfill Park Master Plan.”
Riverside County
- Best in the Information Technology Category for “Monitoring and Response Tools for Post-Wildfire Debris Flow Management.”
Sonoma County
- Best in Risk and Emergency Management Category for it “Recovery and Resiliency Framework.”
Recipients of 2019 Achievement Awards are cordially invited to the NACo Achievement Awards Luncheon from noon to 2:00 p.m. on July 14, 2019, at NACo’s 2019 Annual Conference and Exposition in Clark County, Nevada.
