SACRAMENTO – The California State Association of Counties (CSAC), representing the collective interests of the state’s 58 counties, today announced its Board of Directors has taken positions on three Ballot Measures in the November 2024 General Election.

CSAC has taken the following positions:

• Proposition 4 – The Safe Drinking Water, Wildfire Prevention, Drought Preparedness, and Clean Air Bond Act of 2024  – SUPPORT
• Proposition 5 – Allows Local Bonds for Affordable Housing and Public Infrastructure with 55% Voter Approval  – SUPPORT
• Proposition 36 – Allows Felony Charges and Increases Sentences for Certain Drug and Theft Crimes – SUPPORT

Adoption of a position on a ballot proposition, support or oppose, by the CSAC Board is done through an open and democratic process which requires at least fifty percent plus one of the member counties to pass. With each county receiving one vote.
