The California State Association of Counties (CSAC), the voice of all 58 counties in California, elected its officers to lead the statewide association for 2024 at its 129th Annual Meeting in Alameda County, CA. The new officers are:
- CSAC President – San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Bruce Gibson
- CSAC First Vice President – Inyo County Supervisor Jeff Griffiths
- CSAC Second Vice President – Santa Clara County Supervisor Susan Ellenberg
- CSAC Immediate Past President – Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington
“The next year, as an election year, has the potential to seismically shift our state and nation. As CSAC President, I want to emphasize the commitment and skill our members have in serving all Californians and our shared vision of communities that thrive,” said CSAC President and San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Bruce Gibson. “It is my profound honor to lead this county-driven organization as we work together to navigate the challenges – and opportunities – ahead.”
“On behalf of our Association members, I congratulate our newly elected officers who will drive CSAC’s work on behalf California’s 58 counties in 2024,” said CSAC Chief Executive Officer Graham Knaus. “This group of elected leaders has the depth and breadth of experience to truly represent urban, suburban, and rural counties as we navigate pressing issues such as homelessness, behavioral health, and other challenges impacting our communities.”
President Gibson most recently served as the CSAC’s First and Second Vice President. He has extensive local government experience as the longest-serving supervisor on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors. He was elected unanimously by the CSAC Suburban Caucus and then elected President by his fellow county supervisors from across the state on November 16.
