Cannabis
The passage of Proposition 64, the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA), legalized the consumption and cultivation of marijuana for recreational use in California. CSAC is working closely with the Administration and the Legislature to ensure that local governments have the information and resources they need to effectively regulate and tax marijuana, if they so choose.
In addition, CSAC staff are working on clean-up efforts relative to medical and recreational marijuana, working to preserve and protect local control and provide adequate funding for environmental and other impacts.
