City of Montebello v. Vasquez (S219052)
CSAC has filed a brief in the California Supreme Court on the issue of whether a defendant in an action brought by a city or county seeking to enforce public rights can use special litigation procedures to quickly end the litigation (known as “anti-SLAPP), or whether the public enforcement exception to anti-SLAPP applies even if the action is not technically brought “in the name of the People of the State of California.” CSAC’s brief was drafted by CSAC’s Associate Counsel Janis Herbtsman.
